The Jewish community's elected representative body since 1760 has been The Board of Deputies and marked the inauguration of the 35th anniversary of the return of Jews to Britain. 

The Board, on behalf of its constituents interface with Westminster, Whitehall, Brussels and world leadership, monitoring legislation affecting Jewish lives. It covers defence and security, demographic research, communal information, the advancement of Jewish education, support for Israel and needy Jews elsewhere.

The all party Parliamentary Committee's anti-semitism report in past years has shown clearly the necessity for the Board's enceasing efforts. 

Deputies work tirelessly on a voluntary basis and the backing of the Jewish community via their Synagogue is paramount to the success of their future and for that of our children. HRS are pleased to have two Representatives; Wally Leaf and Harry Levene who have again been elected to serve on our behalf for the next three years.

HRS supports the Board by adding a modest Board Levy on every synagogue subscription account that is sent out and urges its members to recognise the importance of having such an organisation working on their behalf.
