Thank you for your in your interest in HENDON REFORM SYNAGOGUE.
We recognise that making a decision for synagogue membership is not taken lightly and therefore appreciate that your final choice may be influenced by several reasons. It could be that you are changing from another synagogue, planning a wedding or have children ready to start Cheder. Perhaps its "just the right time". Whatever your reason we are sure you will find the answer with us and hope that you will find the information we provide to be both enlightening and informative.
Once you are a member of HRS you are entitled to full membership rights. This includes attendance to all services, including tickets for the High Holydays, adult education and funeral costs.
HRS is a constituent of the Movement for Reform Judaism. This body is based at the Sternberg Centre, Finchley and provides members synagogues with books of prayer, a Bet Din [Jewish Court of Law] and facilitates knowledge of Judaism, learning, administration, technology and all matters associated with that of a "Head Office".
Our membership year starts 1 March and accounts can either be paid in full, or spread over ten months by standing order by request.
The a scale of membership fees shown below are based on a basic rate tax payer paying with Gift Aid:
Family [including all children under 21] = £910
Single = £455 with discounts for those aged between 26 and 30
Junior [aged between 21 and 26] = £40
Wedding Package = equivalent to single membership and held for five years
If either you or your partner is over the age of 70, in addition to the yearly subscription, there is unfortunately a one off payment for late age entry into the funeral scheme.
So that the synagogue can claim the tax back from your subscription, we ask all members to complete a Gift Aid form.
