To most people, Jewish food, although delicious, is typically heavy in fat, sugar and starch. Despite the fond memories of the chopped liver, lokshen pudding and cholent that great grandma used to make, we are now more health concious when it comes to cooking. It doesn't however stop some of these wonderful and traditional foods from creeping back onto our tables on high days and holidays.
In fact, all Jewish festivals, celebrations and even life cycles have associated foods and it is the food we eat as a family at these times that gives them their special unforgettable flavour and renews the images stamped on our minds from early childhood.
Please click on our Festivals page to see the different foods that are traditionally eaten at these times.
