Senior Rabbi: Steven Katz Andrew Owen -Chairman Visiting Hendon Reform Synagogue for the first time? If so, we will be delighted to see you, whether you visit for a particular celebration, such a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, accompanying relatives, or just curious about Judaism or Reform Judaism in particular. You can be assured of a warm welcome, whatever the occasion or event.

SHALOM AND WELCOME TO HENDON REFORM SYNAGOGUE

HRS is a Reform community, affiliated to the Movement for Reform Judaism.

We draw our strength and direction from the Torah and from the rich Rabbinical interpretations of the Talmud and our continuing history thus keeping alive the living traditions of Judaism.

A warm and welcoming community, we encourage the equal participation of men and women in our services where both Hebrew and English are used.

We promote learning with regular classes for children on a Sunday morning, the Rabbi's Shabbat morning class for Bar and Bat Mitzvah children, regular Torah Breakfasts plus interesting Adult Education programmes.

HRS is situated in the centre of Hendon although our members come from a wide area of North West London and surrounding districts including Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

We have many social activities that take place during the week and events for all ages and interests throught the year. Please take a look at our diary for current and future events.

ZUMBATHON

Zumbathon - Sunday 9th June

HRS will be holding a Zumbathon with Lara from Love2DanceUK on Sunday 9th June from 11.00 am - 1.30 pm.

This is a fundraising event for all generations; grandparents, parents and children (aged 12 and over) can all join in together. Starting with Zumba Gold and progressing to Zumba Fitness.

Raising funds for HRS and three very deserving Charities: The North London Hospice, British Friends of Israeli War Disabled, Meningitis Research Foundation.

£10 per person, £3 for 12 -16 year olds. Refreshments will be available.

SHAVUOT

Tikkun Leil Shavuot - Tuesday 14th May at 7.30pm

Should interfaith couples be offered a Jewish wedding? Should Rabbis officiate at jewish Gay Religious Weddings?

CHAVURAH LUNCH

Shabbat 15th June - Chavurah Lunch

Come and join us for Shabbat Morning service followed by an informal lunch. Everybody is welcome, please bring your family and friends.

Our Twinned Community

Visit to our Twinned Community

Join us in September on a 5 day trip to Belarus. We will visit our twinned Reform Jewish Community in Bobruisk which before 1939 was home to forty five synagogues, Minsk and Vilnius.
